Commemorating our inspirational friends
Over the last 2 years, in our community, we have suffered the loss of 2 wonderful, inspirational friends.
Firstly we suffered the loss of our beloved Parish Priest, Fr Eugene Lynch. A strong man with a quick sense of humour. He was always there to offer advice, a shoulder to cry on and a level head full of wisdom.
We also went on to lose Mrs Lonergan; our beloved colleague, friend and teacher. She worked in our school for many years inspiring others through her love of dance and music. As time went on, she took charge of Religious Education in our school and also went on to become SENCo.
The children decided that we need to remember these 2 wonderful people and came up with the idea to buy friendship benches for everyone to enjoy. Today on the 29th of June 2023, the feast of St Peter and Paul, as well as the 1st anniversary of Mrs Lonergan's passing, we dressed as those people in the world who inspire us. We also held a service to bless and open our new friendship benches in memory of Mrs Lonergan and Fr Eugene.
May they continue to inspire us and watch over us.
